LONESOME HIGHWAY (IRELAND) - LATEST ALBUM REVIEWS
By Declan Culliton- April 7, 2022
"LETTERS TO ALIENS is her second full album, following BARNSTORMER from 2018 and her EP MARSHMALLOW WORLD from the same year. Blessed with a delightful crystal-clear voice, Sinclair recorded the album supported by her band The South 65. The recording took place at Sneak Attack Recording in Lexington, Kentucky, with the production duties credited to Sinclair and Jason Groves. Her band is Danny Flanigan (guitar), Jeff Binder (bass), Cary Shields (drums) and her mother Toni Karpinski on backing vocals. Guesting on the album is Fats Kaplin, who contributes fiddle, pedal steel and theremin.
Performing, fronting bands and writing since her early teens, Sinclair’s core sound is a throwback to the country rock of the early 70s, with a comparison to Linda Ronstadt being the most obvious. She opens the album in fine style with the explosive Dragon Spirit. Her vocals sail gloriously above some fine bass and organ on the soulful Should’ve Been Prepared and echoes of Emmylou surface on the sublime ballad Gathering Dust. Other highlights include the radio-friendly Where I’ll Be Found and album closer With Every Goodbye.
“This album is a documentation of my human experience, my time capsule, my letter on a balloon, my story thus far.’’ explains Sinclair. It’s also a celebration of recovery, rebirth and regeneration from the possessor of a killer vocal and a skilled songwriter. An extremely easy on the ear listen both vocally and musically from a collection of players firing on all cylinders. "
THE BOOT - RHYAN SINCLAIR COMES OF AGE ON 'LETTERS TO ALIENS'
By Matt Wickstrom - March 29, 2022
Rhyan Sinclair may only be 21, but she’s far from being a new face in the country and Americana music scenes. The Lexington, Ky. native has been writing, recording and touring since she was 11 and has found a tight groove in recent years with her backing band The South 65.
Sinclair documents her past decade on the road and the moments of self reflection and growth along the way on Letters to Aliens, her sophomore album released on March 4.

Rhyan's new album, 'Letters to Aliens,' is on the Americana Music Association Top 50 Albums Chart for the second consecutive week. In addition, "Where I'll Be Found" is "Bubblin' Up" on the singles chart.
THE BOOT - WEEKLY PICKS 3/21/22
The Boot Staff - March 21, 2022
21-year-old Kentuckian Rhyan Sinclair sings of feeling out of place on "All Alone in Outer Space," the de facto title track of her second full-length album Letters to Aliens, out March 4. On the psychedelic country jam, Sinclair recalls her childhood when she would "send letters to aliens on balloons into the unknown."

The otherworldly tale is further lifted into another dimension with the theremin of Fats Kaplin, a long-time collaborator of Jack White and John Prine, among others, who appears throughout Sinclair's new album.

FATEA MAGAZINE - LETTERS TO ALIENS REVIEW
By Mike Davies- March 4, 2022
Hailing from Kentucky, with a previous solo EP and album as well as three as part of All The Little Pieces, Sinclair (who's also appeared in films since age 4) is no newcomer but this, a terrific return to songwriting following a 2019 car crash and the recent lockdowns that afforded therapy time to work through such demons as her troubled relationship with her biological father, PTSD and anxiety, feels very much a new start, one that should deservedly give her a much wider profile.

Working with a four piece band, South 65, including mother Toni on harmonies, rather than hired hands, but also with contributions from Fats Kaplin on pedal steel, theramin and fiddle, it's couched in a cocktail of seventies folk rock and traditional country...
SOUND AND SOUL - FIRES FROM OUR LINEAGE: RHYAN SINCLAIR ON 'LETTERS TO ALIENS'
By Charlie Farmer - March 3, 2022
Listening to Rhyan Sinclair’s latest release, Letters to Aliens, during these short, brisk days delivers the comfort of furnace blast, a reminder of spring’s warmth and sunshine. The album also conjures the season’s promise of renewal and rebirth. If the Kentucky native’s 2018 debut album Barnstormer is the sound of a seventeen-year-old stepping out her own, testing her wings after fronting the alt-country All the Littles Pieces, Letters is a rocket blast of self-discovery, self-assertion, and inevitable paradox.

WATCH: NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE, 'WHERE I'LL BE FOUND'
By Site Admin - February 18, 2022
After its exclusive premiere on Capture Kentucky this past week, the music video for "Where I'll Be Found" is now available everywhere.

From Rhyan, as told to Capture Kentucky:
“The live portion of the video was shot on a soundstage on a nearby college campus, but the traveling footage is all straight from my phone, from adventures on the road. This video was a fun collaboration of our old team who used to produce BalconyTV Kentucky. Wes Kawaja ran the camera with my dad assisting, my mom produced, and I edited it. Video editing is a passion of mine. It was so fun to look back on these memories and really work to craft something that ended up looking so similar to the memories flashing through my mind when I wrote the song. Fun fact…you can spot my dogs, Buddy and Daphne Moon in the video!”
WATCH: BRAND NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR 'INTERSTATE SAILORS'
By Rhyan - January 29, 2022
I'm so excited to be able to share the music video for my brand new single, Interstate Sailors. My family and I worked on this stop-motion animation together over the holidays. It was a true labor of love, with all of us getting to do the things we enjoy. My dad built the animation table and did the lighting and photography, my mom designed and cut out all of the "characters", made their hinges and moved them on the table. I edited it all together in final cut, along with the live action footage that Wes shot.
ADOBE & TEARDROPS - RHYAN SINCLAIR RECLAIMS THE ROAD WITH COSMIC SHANTY, "INTERSTATE SAILORS"
By Rhyan - January 29, 2022
Rhyan Sinclair knows how to handle herself on the road. In 2018, she released her first solo full-length, Barnstormer. Later in 2018, she released the holiday EP, Marshmallow World, which was featured on the Americana Music Association’s Holiday Playlist. But recovering from a car accident suddenly extended as lockdown settled in. In the spring of 2022, this impressive new voice in country returns with Letters to Aliens, which continues the theme of a woman on a journey, but this time the vibe is cosmic, seventies-esque folk rock with whispers of traditional country.
IF IT'S TOO LOUD - RHYAN SINCLAIR "DRAGON SPIRIT"
By Ken Sears - January 4, 2022
"Kentucky's Rhyan Sinclair is definitely doing classic country on her latest single, but it has her own twist on the sound. ‘Dragon Spirit’ has a cosmic, 70's rock vibe to it. It's almost as if Gram Parsons took a few more steps into rock while still keeping his music country."

LONESTAR TIME (ITALY) - RHYAN SINCLAIR - LETTERS TO ALIENS [REVIEW]
By Remo Ricaldone - April 7, 2022

THE BLUEGRASS SITUATION - LISTEN: RHYAN SINCLAIR, "GASOLINE IN THE MORNING"
By BGS Staff - March 3, 2022
In Their Words: “During the writing of this album, I was working through past trauma in therapy. That experience strongly informed my writing for this album, and I think that’s especially present on ‘Gasoline in the Morning.’ The song, for me, is about mental health, its upkeep, and ultimately, reevaluating what you allow to propel you forward…what you use as ‘fuel.’" -Rhyan Sinclair, on "Gasoline in the Morning"

LISTEN: NEW SINGLE, 'WHERE I'LL BE FOUND' OUT NOW
By Site Admin - February 18, 2022
After its exclusive premiere on Capture Kentucky earlier this week, "Where I'll Be Found" is now available to stream/purchase on all digital music platforms.

“I wrote ‘Where I’ll Be Found’ during the height of the pandemic when I was reflecting on memories of places and people I missed. I was searching for a unifying thread in that isolating and divisive time. I was also strongly inspired by loved ones who have passed on, and the song is as much written from their perspective, as it is mine. I’ve learned to stay connected to them by the different things they’ve left behind, emotionally and physically. The lyrics came to me very organically, and they were just the uplifting, comforting message that I needed. I hope the song can provide that same comfort for others.”
- Rhyan, as told to Capture Kentucky

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. We’ve got a special treat for you today. We have an exclusive song AND video premiere from one of our favorite Kentucky artists. The one, the only, Rhyan Sinclair!
Rhyan is a young lady with more talent in her pinky than I’ll ever possess, so I’m going to let her music do most of the talking on this one. I will add this though, Rhyan Sinclair is wise beyond her years and her songwriting ability continues to blossom with every single song. So today we’re honored to premiere her brand new song and video for ‘Where I’ll Be Found.'”
IF IT'S TOO LOUD - RHYAN SINCLAIR "INTERSTATE SAILORS"
By Ken Sears - February 1, 2022
Kentucky's Rhyan Sinclair started off as the singer for All the Little Pieces between the ages of eleven and fifteen. Now on her own as a solo artist, her music can best be described as cosmic country. Based on her latest single, "Interstate Sailors," her sound has elements of classic 70's country mixed with psychedelia, but updated for a 2022 audience. "Interstate Sailors" is an absolute anthem of a song reminiscent of an artist like Dolly Parton meets Stevie Nicks but with the trippy alt-rock edge of early Flaming Lips.
AMERICANA HIGHWAYS - SONG PREMIERE: RHYAN SINCLAIR "INTERSTATE SAILORS"
By Melissa Clarke - January 24, 2022
Rhyan Sinclair’s songwriting crystallizes before your very eyes into something really wonderful, full of abstract and references and concrete imagery swirling together at once. “A treasure for tomorrow now in the dark,” is Sinclair’s night riders’ anthem here in “Interstate Sailors.”
